Need To Look Out For?

Look for foods that use only natural preservatives and flavors. There shouldn’t be added sugars or colors to your cat’s foodCat vomit is a common problem for cats. All cat owners have some sort of cat vomit story, usually involving their shoe, their bare foot or even their bed. Cats can vomit for numerous reasons, including hairballs or intestinal obstructions. If your cat vomits regularly, the first step is to take your kitty to the vet for a checkup.

Food Allergy Symptoms

Did you know that the main symptom of a food allergy in a cat is vomiting? Cats who vomit yellow bile or undigested food after eating are often suffering from a food allergy or a food intolerance. Many commercial cat foods use fillers, artificial flavors and artificial colors, all of which can lead to an upset stomach for your cat. Over time, this may even cause Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) or Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), both of which are due to internal inflammation.

What Do I Need To Look Out For?

A quick glance at a popular cat food label turns up ingredients like corn syrup, corn, wheat and soybean meal. In fact, this well known cat food has very little actual meat in it and the meat that is in it is from by-products which can also contain feathers, beaks and feet. Your cat food should have quality meat listed as the first ingredient.

All our foods have at least 90% animal protein.

Look for foods that use only natural preservatives and flavors. There shouldn’t be added sugars or colors to your cat’s food.

All of these extra ingredients in your cat’s food mean that your cat’s body has to work harder to get the nutrition out of their food. The harder your cat has to work to digest their food, the less the body can fight against things like inflammation. Inflammation spreads to their gastrointestinal system, causing things like vomiting and diarrhea.
