What is Conjugated Linoleic Acid?

There’s a lot of hype about Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) but what is it really?

CLA is a form of Omega-6 fatty acid and can be found in Kangaroo and dairy products. It is abundant in the meat and bone of ruminant grazing animals – about 3 to 5 times more than animals fed on grains. But even though Kangaroos aren’t ruminant animals, research shows that it has up to 5 times the level of CLA as compared to other meats. In fact, Kangaroo meat is used in Australia in formulating pet food and is gaining wider recognition in the market.

Why CLA is good for dogs

CLA enhances the immune response in the body. It also inhibits the growth of cell-related diseases such as cancer cells. CLA in Kangaroo meat also reduces inflammation caused by an infection or irritation. And a reduced risk of inflammation means the chances of developing allergies are lower. Kangaroo is also less likely to cause an adverse reaction in your pet’s body, as it is a novel protein – a good diet for dogs with skin and digestive sensitivities.

A dog food formula that contains Kangaroo meat is Addiction Wild Kangaroo and Apples. It’s made with wild Australian Kangaroo as a novel premium protein source and Apples rich in fiber and antioxidants. This recipe is free from common allergens such as chicken or poultry , wheat, potatoes, corn, soy, and gluten. Addiction Pet Foods’ Wild Kangaroo & Apples is also enriched with all-natural Coconut Oil that’s gentle on the stomach and promotes skin and coat health.
