Bad breath can be a sign your dog has dental disease. \u00a0If your pet hasn’t been to the vet recently for a dental checkup, you will want to check this out first. \u00a0Dogs develop plaque which can turn into tartar. \u00a0Tartar buildup can lead to dental disease, which could cause your dog to have bad breath<\/p>\n

Sometimes bad breath can be a symptom of other problems. \u00a0Systemic problems can sometimes lead to bad breath. \u00a0If your dog has recently developed bad breath, it’s a good idea to check in with your vet.<\/p>\n

Bad breath can also be a sign that your dog is not getting the nutrition he needs from his diet. \u00a0Bad breath can be the result of food not being digested properly. \u00a0Taking a close look at your dog’s diet is a good place to get started.<\/p>\n

What is Your Dog Eating?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The closer to nature a diet is, the healthier it is for your dog. \u00a0If your dog is eating a kibble, consider adding in some canned foods. \u00a0Though kibble is a complete diet, it is cooked at extremely high temperatures and is a highly processed food, making it harder for your dog to get the nutrients out of each meal.<\/p>\n

Dehydrated foods have been gently air dried at a temperature just high enough to destroy any harmful bacteria such as e-coli and salmonella.<\/p>\n

This allows the food to retain most of it’s beneficial enzymes and nutrients, making it even easier for your dog to digest!Your dog may not ever have minty fresh breath, but if your dog’s breath sends you running to another room, changing up his diet could make the difference between doggy kisses and being sent to his bed.<\/p>\n
